For catching the clippings as you mow instead of raking them up afterward: this catcher mounts on a Gardena hand cylinder mower without tools and fills with the cuttings as they leave the blades.

Gardena makes it to fit all of its cylinder lawnmowers, including the Classic 400 push reel mower sold here. It weighs 3 pounds and folds to take up less room between mowings. When it is full, lift it off and empty the clippings onto the compost pile or the beds.

A full catcher is ready mulch for the vegetable garden, as long as the lawn has not been treated with a weed killer. Our turnips guide puts down a three to four inch layer of untreated grass clippings or weed-free straw, which can help cut down on weeding, and the cauliflower guide uses the same depth to help hold weeds back.
