Gourmet Seed ("we", "us") runs gourmetseed.com. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you visit the site, read our guides or buy from our shop, how we use it and who we share it with. Questions: email hello@gourmetseed.com.

What we collect

What you give us: your name, email address, shipping and billing address, a phone number if you choose to add one at checkout, and anything you write to us by email.
Order details: the items you buy, what you paid and the payment and shipping status. Card details are entered on Shopify's checkout and handled by its payment processors; we never see or store your full card number.
Device and usage details: the pages you view, the site that sent you, your browser and device type, and an approximate location based on your IP address, collected through cookies and similar tools named below.

How we use it

To take, ship and support your order, including returns and refunds.
To answer your messages.
To see which pages people read, so we can improve the guides and the shop.
To prevent fraud and keep the site secure.
To meet our legal, tax and accounting duties.

We do not send marketing email.

Who we share it with

Shopify hosts our store and checkout and processes payments. Its privacy policy: shopify.com/legal/privacy.
The brand or distributor that ships your order. Each item in our shop is shipped directly by the brand or distributor named on its product page, so we share your name, shipping address and, if you gave one, phone number with the company that ships each item, only to deliver it and handle any return.
Google Analytics tells us how visitors use the site. Google's privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy.
Ahrefs Web Analytics counts visits and the pages read, so we can see which guides are useful.
Amazon. Some guide links go to Amazon. We do not send Amazon your name or contact details; after you click one of those links, Amazon may set its own cookies and collect information under its own privacy notice. Amazon reports to us which purchases earned a commission, not who made them.
eBay and Walmart, when we sell there. If you buy one of our items on eBay or Walmart.com, that marketplace collects your information under its own privacy policy and passes us what we need to ship the order.
When the law requires it: to tax authorities, our accountant, or in answer to a valid legal request, and to protect our rights or someone's safety.

We do not sell your personal information. To opt out of any sharing of your information for targeted advertising, use Your Privacy Choices.

Cookies

The site uses the cookies Shopify needs to run the cart and checkout, plus the analytics tools named above. Where a cookie banner appears you can decline cookies that are not needed, and you can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the cart and checkout need Shopify's cookies to work.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to see, correct, delete or get a copy of the personal information we hold about you, and to opt out of its sale or sharing. To ask, email hello@gourmetseed.com from the address on your order. We may need to confirm it is you before we act, and we will not treat you differently for asking.

How long we keep it

We keep order records for as long as tax and accounting law requires, and emails for as long as we need them to answer you and follow up on your order.

Security

We use the protections our providers offer, and we limit who can see your information. No method of sending or storing information is completely secure.
