Gardena Water Control Bluetooth Water Timer, 3 Schedules
For watering that runs to a schedule you set from your phone. The timer connects to an outdoor faucet, and the free Gardena Bluetooth app (iOS or Android) sets up to three schedules, each with a start time, a duration and the days of the week, from up to about 30 feet away.
A rain break pauses watering for several days, Water Now starts a run at once without changing the plan, and three status LEDs show the Bluetooth link, the battery and an active run. It runs on a 9 V alkaline battery, which Gardena says lasts a year, and Safe Stop skips a run the battery could not finish. A Gardena soil moisture sensor, sold separately, can hold a scheduled run when the soil is still moist.
Pair it with a drip or soaker hose for vine crops. University of Minnesota Extension waters squash and pumpkins at the soil so the leaves stay dry, at least an inch of water a week.
