Gardena ExpertCut Pruning Shears, Stainless Blades, 0.87 Inch Cut

For the stems you cut every week in a vegetable garden: okra pods, summer squash, herbs and spent flowers. The ExpertCut takes stems up to 22 mm thick, a little under an inch, per Gardena.

The blades are stainless steel, and Gardena says an extra hardening step takes them to up to 60 HRC. A sap drain in the blade keeps sticky plant sap off it, the grip width adjusts for small and medium hands, the shears work in either hand, and the lock closes with one hand.

Illinois Extension harvests summer squash with a sharp knife or pruning shears and suggests gloves for the prickly stems. For okra, Johnny's clips the pods at 3 to 4 inches long, before oversized pods turn tough.

Specs: maximum cutting diameter up to 22 mm | stainless steel blades, up to 60 HRC | sap drain | adjustable grip width | left or right hand | one-hand lock | article 12203-81
