The brilliant Yellow Skin on the rind of the Golden Midget Watermelon is striking. This is a small melon that handles cooler temperatures during the growing season better than most. The Red flesh inside has good flavor and sometimes fewer seeds than larger melons. I have planted it later than I should and still produced melons when all but Cream of Saskatchewan did not produce. The rind is on the thinner side for a traditional melon. Introduced in 1959 by the University of New Hampshire.
