Borage is a great all-around herb, easy to grow, drought resistant. Greens can be eaten fresh, cooked or pickled, used to flavor port wine, has mild flavor reminiscent of cucumber. Attractive flowers good cut for arrangements or used as a garnish, the plants are often grown as much for their ornamental qualities as well as herbal. Annual plant with a stout, herbaceous, branched stem 12-20 inches/30-50cm tall, with numerous dark green leaves (large at base) with an acute ovate shape and wrinkly, bristly edge, blue-violet colored flowers. Untreated seed.
