Originating from the Iberian peninsula and related to the Yellow Canary (VML05), Pele de Sapo is a major crop for Spain and Brazil. The oval/long fruit have a green toad-like skin (hence the name) and pale very sweet flesh. Pele de Sapo wins the 'ugly but tasty' award of the melon world. Also known as Piel de Sapo (Sp.). Fruit is ready when skin begins to lighten and show just a bit of yellow. Untreated seed.
