Passiflora caerulea (blue passion flower, common passion flower) is a beautiful plant with pretty flowers for your pollinator garden. It attracts hummingbirds and bees. The plant is native to South America (Argentina, Chile, Paraguay, Uruguay and Brazil). The vigorous vines are deciduous or semi-evergreen growing to 10 m (33 ft) or more. The ovoid orange fruit, growing to 6 cm (2 in), is edible but somewhat bland. While semi-tropical, it can grow in cooler areas and you will need to see how it adapts to your climate. While perennial, it can be handled as an annual in some cooler areas.
