Butternut Liscia squash, is an Italian strain of Butternut, related to Waltham Butternut but slightly larger (4.5-5# weight). The dimensions of the squashes are usually around 10 inches long and 4.5-6inches across on the bulbous base. The vines are strong and like slightly dry conditions, they are somewhat drought tolerant. The coloration of the fruit is similar to other butternuts with orange flesh and tan skin. Do not harvest before the stem is completely dry, or alternatively take indoors when the plant has died and keep it dry thereafter. Classic butternut flavor is great for the market grower with the very good flavor and for the home with its great eating qualities. Italian seed. Untreated seed.
