Pumpkin Seeds, Big Max

This is the BIG Pumpkin of my childhood here in California, averaging 100 pounds and 17-18 inches in diameter. These were grown in the gardens and fields for fall decoration and then eating as pies, canned, soup or stew. The pumpkins are round globes, with nearly smooth skin that has a bit of bumpiness and beautiful true orange color. For best size and production thin the fruit to two or three per plant. Fertile soil and even irrigation leads to the high productivity, but like most pumkins can be grown in challenging conditions but with lesser results.Very vigorous grower, and a wonderful eating type. Thick handles. Untreated seed.
