Okra Seeds, Perkins Long Pod
Perkins Long Pod is an old variety that is still popular in certain parts of the South. It has unsurprisingly about 8" long pods typically. The plants usually grow to about 5' tall and are quite ornamental. Pick Okra by tenderness to avoid stringiness and seediness. Plant the seeds in rows about 30" apart, preferably on beds in heavy soil or flat on sandy soil, with about 6-10" between plants in the row. Untreated seed.
