This is a terrific multiple-use plant, with great ornamental, culinary, and nutritional qualities. A member of the mint family, with a nice, spicy touch. Often used as an herb fresh or dried, chopped for stir-fries, and used for homeopathic medicine in Asia. The beautiful ruffled purple-red leaves are wonderful in arrangements. High in nutrients and proven helpful for many ailments. Typical of Perilla, this one is slow to germinate, but easy to grow. Untreated seed.
