This wonderful heirloom bean has been around for many years, and yet is still a favorite of home and pro growers alike for both fresh use and freezing. The 5-6 inch pods are medium green and slightly curved, the seeds are mottled brown and buff. The flavor is very good, and Contender has strong production, good disease resistance to bean virus and powdery mildew, and heat tolerance. Early to production. Also suitable for growing under glass. Untreated seed.
