Rue is a common ingredient for many Mediterranean dishes, and known for a number of homeopathic uses, as well. Often used to flavor oils and vinegars. Interesting deeply lobed leaves make the plant quite attractive, and it has a pleasant fragrance. Also noted to repel insects (and dogs and cats) and is sometimes planted around roses to control pests. NOTE: Rue is a skin irritant and poisonous if used improperly. Use gloves and caution when handling. Untreated seed.
