Another erect 'Catalonia' chicory plant with elongated, smooth leaves, with white ribs and tight growth habit. With this variety, not only the tender and narrow leaves can be eaten, but also the shoots, which are similar used similarly to asparagus; boiled, in salads, or in soups. They are picked while still tender as they sprout. Sowing can be done at different times to extend the harvest. We grow year round on our California farm. Untreated seed.
