Garlic Chives Seeds, Tai Jui

Out Of Stock Garlic Chives Seeds, Tai Jui
Garlic Chives are a perennial bulbous plant a bit more like Leeks than Onions or Garlic with strap-shaped leaves and straight thin white-flowering stalks that extend above the leaves. The flavor is more like garlic than chives. The slow growing perennial clumps expand. Garlic Chives are best grown from seed though. In warmer areas like part of our farm here in California (USDA Zones 8 and warmer), garlic chives may remain green all year round. Grown in cold areas (USDA Zones 7 to 4b), leaves and stalks completely die back to the ground, and re-sprout from roots or rhizomes in the springtime - make sure that they have a bit of protection with mulch if snow is not present to protect from root freezing. The elongated bulb is small (about 10 mm diameter), tough and fibrous.
