Turnip and Rutabaga Seed

Turnips and rutabaga are relatively easy to grow, given good conditions. Soil should be loose, fertile, and kept evenly moist. Direct sow in early spring through late summer 1/4 inch deep in rows 12-18 inches apart. Thin to 2 to 6 inches apart, depending on how large you plan to grow the roots, 1-2 inches apart if you are growing only for the greens. For best germination soil should be cool to warm (50-80F), and kept moist. Successive plantings will yield a continuous crop.
