Runner Bean Seed

Not often grown here in the US, runner beans can be quite a delightful surprise. They prefer cooler temperatures and will handle partial shade better than other beans. They are quite ornamental, with beautiful flowers, and the pods are best eaten before the beans have fleshed out. The larger, vining types in particular can grow quite quickly and need trellising. Plant in warm soil, 70-85F about 1 in deep. Cultivation is similar to pole and bush beans.
