SWISS CHARD SEED
Swiss Chard thrives in cool weather, so plant as soon as the soil can be worked. For a fall crop, plant again in late August or early September. Sow thinly, about 1/2" deep. Thin plants to 1-3 inches apart, in rows 12-24 inches apart. The tender, flavorful vitamin-rich leaves may be cut as soon as they are big enough to eat. Some chards are grown more for the stems, like rhubarb.
