PUMPKIN SEED
Pumpkins are truly an American crop in comparison to the rest of the world. Now available in all sizes, shapes, and colors, including many varieties from overseas. Though most likley native to Eastern Europe, it is estimated 80% of all pumpkins grown are done so here in the U.S., with nearly 99 percent of those for Halloween decorations and Jack-O-Laterns. Don't pass up this taste treat though as the some of the varieties below make the most excellant breads, pies, soup, and cookies. Very healthy, too.

(95 days) Very beautiful Italian cooking pumpkin. Wonderful dry flesh that is very sweet for pumpkins, great for soups, gnocchi, and breads. Beautiful colors make this a showstopper.

(90-95 days) Gold Medal is a new hybrid that is at the top of the class in appearance for the retail marketer. It is a large pumpkin with dark color and a great, long handle. Due to its early maturity, Gold Medal can replace many varieties in the large fruited class and take large fruited production much farther north. Fruits average 35 to 40 lbs. (PK07) PUMPKIN LADY GODIVA (STYRIAN HULLESS)
(120 days) Large, green/gold pumpkins up to 20 lbs. on strong, large-leaved vines. Grown for the outstanding, large, naked (hulless) seeds which are nutritious, delicious raw or roasted, and can also be pressed for a high-quality oil. An improved strain of the Styrian Hulless of Austria. Use flesh for pies, soups, casseroles. This has decorative qualities, as well withits mottled yellow & green skin. Quite a special find.
