LENTIL BEAN SEED
One of the most ancient cultivated foods, lentil belongs to protein rich legumes. Lentils are grown in most European countries, Asia, North Africa and North America. Small lentils are more flavourful and preferred in the Middle East. The standard Large lentils are grown in North America but lack the intensity of flavor of their small cousins. In the Middle East, lentils are simply boiled with chopped onions, minced garlic, salt, pepper and cumin. It is serves like a thick soup laced with olive oil. They grow in quite dry conditions and make a great cover crop or green manure that helps build up nitrogen levels and also helps to prevent rampant weed invasion.
